Black Thoughts Revisited – Reverend Michael Weeder, Thokozile Madonko, Zane Dangor, Makhanda Senzangakhona
We are a curious group of poets who have teamed up to share our poetry and hold a discussion group at the Poetry in McGregor Festival under the theme “Black Thoughts Revisited” Each poet brings with them reflections on living, loving and doing political work in South Africa, Southern Africa and beyond. All four poets have lived, worked and travelled extensively in South Africa, Southern Africa and globally and this is reflected in their work.

Thokozile Madonko published in Botsotso; Agenda, Ons Klyntji and is working on her first anthology. She works within the South African social justice sector and is originally from Zimbabwe.

Makhanda Senzangakhona pen name for Serekele Paul Oupa Ramachela previously published poems, short stories and other narratives in amongst others Staff Rider, Rixaka, Mayibuye, Mrabulo and Black Letter Media-Poetrypotion. He has served in various roles in and outside South Africa and was until recently was a senior public servant.
