The 2020 Poetry in McGregor Festival was scheduled to be held during the last weekend of August 28-30.

Alas, circumstance prevents what would have been our eighth festival from taking the form of a live event.

However, it is with pleasure that we announce the publication of the McGregor Poetry Festival 2019 anthology, which celebrates last year’s festival.

All poets who have been included in the Anthology are welcome to come to McGregor on the weekend of the 6/7/8th of November. In spite of the extraordinary times we have been living through, we are nonetheless planning to Celebrate Poetry in McGregor by offering poets featured in the Anthology an opportunity to read their work to one another. This will be followed by an Italian feast on the lawns of Temenos to celebrate Poetry and our ongoing passion and perseverance. We are hoping to all enjoy a very relaxed and happy gathering together.

Unfortunately, due to lack of funding this year, poets will need to find their own accommodation in McGregor. However, there is a wide range of accommodation options available in the village.

Please contact www.tourismmcgregor.co.za or surf the web for various options. You could also contact temenosaccounts@lando.co.za and we will do our best to make available to you accommodation options.

Entry to Poetry Reading Events will be free although depending on numbers and social distancing requirements we might be offering several repeat presentations. A small donation to our venue host at Wahnfried in McGregor will be appreciated.

  • Of course, any poetry lovers and lovers of Poetry in McGregor will also be able to join in the happy occasion. Just let us know of your intention to participate before October 20th, 2020.

Should you be planning to attend and participate please contact temenosaccounts@lando.co.za  in order for us to so to put an appropriate  programme together. If you are one of the poets featured in our 2019 Anthology, please also inform us if you are willing to read your poem/s at our event.
